Marie Shannon's Bakery Visit

Mary Jeanne and me at Marie Shannon Confections in downtown Ventura.

Just a quick little post today!  I wanted to tell you about our super fun bakery outing yesterday.  You are probably picking up on a bit of a pattern here…I LOVE bakeries!  Is there anyone who doesn’t?!!

A few months ago, my sweet sister-in-law introduced us to a fabulous bakery in downtown Ventura, not far from us, Marie Shannon Confections.

Look at how cute the interior of Marie Shannon's is! So so fun to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere with a pastry...or two!

Everything was so delicious the first time we went, I have been thinking about going back ever since!  And yesterday I finally had an excuse to go: one of my very best friends was in town for the day, and Mary Jeanne and I decided to introduce her to Marie Shannon’s.  We basically bought out the bakery while we were there, everything just looked so good we couldn’t resist!

Look at those gorgeous macarons! The blue ones in the bottom left are Salted Caramel. The Mocha are middle row, far right. So delicious!

We had to get a few macarons, OF COURSE!  The macaron flavors Marie Shannon’s had yesterday were Mocha and Salted Caramel.  I must say, the macarons there are my favorite after Laduree. They are so so good!  So if you live in the area and need a macaron fix, I highly recommend going to Marie Shannon’s!

The beautiful Meyer lemon tarts!

We also got a Meyer lemon shortbread tart, Mexican chocolate cookie—two actually, we knew they were amazing from last time!—and a vegetable tart.  The pastry on that vegetable tart was so fresh, absolutely made that morning. Literally like a homemade croissant!

The vegetable tarts! The pastry is out of this world, and topped with herbs, potatoes, cheese, and a hint of jalapeño.

If you live around Ventura, or are visiting the area, take a moment and stop by Marie Shannon Confections for a drink and a pastry.  You will not be disappointed!  (:

Have any of you been to Marie Shannon Confections?  Are you as impressed by their baked goods as I always am??!

I’m Shannon, thanks for visiting!  When I’m not on an adventure with my 4 year old, I’m developing plant-based recipes or watching a Classic Film!
